Muhammad Ali Larik leads Natro Compliance, the anti-money laundering and regulatory compliance division of Natro Consulting. He is among the most comprehensively credentialed compliance professionals practising in the UAE: recognised as a compliance expert by the DFSA, the FSRA and the SCA, and an Approved MLRO with the Central Bank of the UAE. Few practitioners hold regulatory recognition across all three of the country’s principal financial jurisdictions alongside central bank MLRO approval.
Over more than 17 years across the UAE and Pakistan, he has worked at every level of the discipline: regulatory compliance, AML, counter-terrorist financing, governance and operations. As Group Compliance Officer and MLRO, he has built enterprise-wide compliance frameworks, led regulatory engagements and introduced AI-based monitoring systems, in senior roles at A&A Associate LLC, AJMS Global Consulting, Creative Zone Group and Al Brooge Securities. He works routinely with free zone and mainland authorities and with global financial regulators.
His international qualifications match that regulatory standing. He is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), holds the CAMI certification, the International Compliance Association (ICA, UK) qualification and a CISI (UK) certification, and is certified in governance, risk and compliance by GRC-USA (GRCP, GRCA). He is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants (Australia) and of the Institute of Financial Accountants (UK), holds an MBA in Banking and Finance and Certified VAT Compliance from the ATT (UK), and completed a FinTech specialisation at the University of Pennsylvania.
His core expertise spans KYC and enhanced due diligence, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, regulatory reporting including ESR, UBO, FATCA and CRS, internal audit and corporate governance. Grounded in banking operations from his early years at BankIslami, he combines analytical rigour with regulatory foresight and a practical command of compliance technology.
For Natro Compliance clients, that means frameworks designed by someone who has been accountable to regulators himself: policies and controls that hold up under inspection, staff trained to recognise and escalate risk, and audit readiness built into daily operations rather than assembled the week before a visit.
